Role in the conflict
Yselle negotiates transport and finance for House Veyr. Her investigation begins with the assumption that the system is being abused by a few dishonest agents. The ledgers eventually reveal her own countersignature on an authorization that harmed villages.
Convictions
Competence is not innocence. She must make the record public, accept oversight, and continue restitution without demanding that everyone forgive her.
Relationship arc
Love without acquittal. Her bond with Pyrrhus grows when they stop offering each other comfortable stories. Political disagreement can remain public without becoming a threat to their private relationship.
