Endings — The Iron Peace

Working design. New events, appearances, mechanics, and political details remain proposals. See canon ledger.

This route emerges when Pyrrhus repeatedly preserves military strength by suppressing hearings, extending emergency powers, and treating opposition as a threat to survival. He can defeat Edric while retaining the machinery that made Edric dangerous. Roads reopen under reliable patrols. Grain reaches some towns faster. Raiders are crushed. The benefits are real enough to make the outcome disturbing rather than a simple failure screen.

The costs appear in who is allowed to object. Councils advise but cannot refuse. Ciro's army becomes the essential guarantor of every settlement. Xeno may remain a protected symbol, now under arrangements justified by his eldest brother instead of his father. A good personal relationship can make their confrontation more painful: Xeno asks whether Pyrrhus remembers why they helped him leave the palace.

Pyrrhus need not wear a crown for this ending to occur. He may insist that the emergency will end when the country is ready. The player has heard that argument before. Romance outcomes depend on the partner's boundaries and the specific decisions made; no companion should endorse repression merely because her relationship score is high.

The final image is a peaceful street with a ration queue beneath armed supervision. A child asks permission to cross a barrier that was once unnecessary. Pyrrhus receives a report showing improved order while a petition waits unopened nearby. The ending asks whether he can still recognize the difference between keeping a country alive and making it unable to act without him.
