Registering a New Student at the Mantodean Academy
To Create a New Character for the Campaign, complete the following steps and have the needed information prepared.
Name
Base Squad (Infantry, Scout, Acolyte, Sage)
Primary Stat Distribution - You have 70 Points to Distribute Between your Six Stats. No Stat May go Below 2 or above 26 Initially. 10 Is the Base and your bonus modifier goes up or down by every increment of 3 from that.
- STR - Affects Melee based attacks and brute force actions
- CON - Affects HP and bodies ability to persevere through traumatic events
- AGI - Affects how quickly character moves and can take action
- DEX - Affects characters accuracy and ranged precision, nimbleness/athletics
- INT - Affects characters magical/elemental abilities and knowledge retention
- SPR - Affects characters spiritual affinity with the soul/body elements.
Second Stat Distribution - These Stats are determined by your Primary Stats or other outside modifiers (gear, abilities, conditions etc)
- FOR - Fortitude - Physical Conditioning of the Body (1 + STR/CON/AGI Bonus)
- WIL - Will - Mental Conditioning of the Body (1 + DEX/INT/SPR Bonus)
- CHA - Charisma - Abililty to Affect others thoughts (1 + INT BONUS + WIL + Fame)
- MV - Move - Distance character can travel in one turn. (3+1 per 3 Agi Bonus)
- AP - Action Points - How quickly Turn Meter fills to take turn (6+1 per 2 Agi Bonus)
- ASS - Assist Power - Bonus Applied when assisting other Characters (1 base)
- PR - Physical Resistance - Reduces Physical Damage Taken - (5 + FOR)
- BRK - Break - Ability to Break Enemy Armor (1 Base)
- MR - Magical Resistance - Reduces Magical Damge Taken (5 +WIL)
- Fame - The Worlds Opinion of your Character According to their Deeds (or Misdeeds)
- HP - Hit Points - Your characters Health and ability to soak damage before fading (9 + Level + CON TOTAL/2)*2
- AR - Armor - All Damage taken is reduced by your characters Armor first. Once armor is depleted you will take bonus damage. Some Magic and skills by pass armor reduction. (10 Base)
- KI - Ki/Energy - Sustains your characters magical/elemental abilities. Once depleted, certain abilities can no longer be used. 10 +(INT TOTAL-10)+(SPR TOTAL-10)
Elemental Affinities - This is how certain elements affect your character. A Higher Affinity means more prominent use of abilities influenced by them, reduced damage taken by it (and increased damage taken by its counterpart)
Elements reactions with each other are as follows
Fire > Air > Earth > Water > Fire
Using an Element against its weaker counter part increases its effectiveness by your affinity (or reduces it)
Spiritual Affinity is not affected by the other elements and is purely KI based.
Race: Your characters race is to be chosen from a Human or a Fauna. Fauna are humanoids with any amount of animal archetype influence. Fauna types are divided between the 5 sub-categories (Brute, Mind, Speed, Savage, Silent) which affect their stats and abilities to perform certain job/tasks.
- Brute Fauna are hulking pillars of brute force, suitable for soaking or dealing large amounts of damage. (+3 STR/CON, -3 AGI/DEX)
- Mind Fauna are the quiet contemplators, always in tune with their surroundings (+3 INT/SPR, -3 DEX/STR)
- Speed Fauna are nimble creatures, utilizing their speed for their survival (+3 AGI/DEX, -3 CON/STR)
- Savage Fauna are creatures bred purely for hunting and destruction. (+3STR/AGI/DEX, -3 CON/INT/SPR)
- Silent Fauna live amongst the world unknown to those around them (+3INT/SPR/AGI, -3 DEX/STR/CON)
The amount of "influence" your character has by its chosen animal can be as much or as little as you choose design wise, but they receive the same stat changes regardless.

Write your character Bio. The Bio may or may not affect special abilities or storylines based on how in-depth you choose to make it.

Each new Cadet starts with 1000 Credits and 100 JP
The Armory lists what is available for initial and subsequent purchases and cadets can learn which initial skills they'd like from their starting squad in their Classrooms.

Calculate your new base rolls.
HP Attack - (Attack Stat + Bonuses)
- Sample: You have 14 Total Strength using a Basic Longsword of +1 with one 1 Level in Sword Prof your HP Attack is 1d20+(14+1+1)
AR Attack - (BRK Total + Bonuses)
- Sample: BRK score of 1 + an equipped Knuckle Buster gives you a AR Attack of 1d20+(1+1)
Add additional skill roles as needed.
All Characters have the Rest Ability, which costs 80 AP, skips your turn and restores 1d4 HP and 1 KI
